If you are a Panerai collector, this watch needs no introduction. It was the first special edition Radiomir made with a "California" dial. With Arabic and Roman numerals this dial was considered to be country non-specific. So if captured during military times, your watch would not let your enemy know your possible country of origin. Especially if you were trying to escape. And that is just what the elite Italian Naval divers who were originally given a watch very similar to the PAM 249, were trying to do after they attached a bomb to the bottom of the oppositions boat in the enemy harbor.
It has a very easy to read large black dial with highly luminous numbers, markers and hands; The stainless-steel case holding this unique dial is 47mm large and houses a mechanical hand wound movement that is durable and accurate which can be viewed through the exhibition case back. The watch is very comfortable on the wrist! With tons of character, you will enjoy wearing this timepiece. Don't be surprised if you are stopped by strangers asking the meaning of your watch.
