Pre Vendom Circa 2006.
This is a special edition that was commissioned by Slyvester Stallone with Panerai in conjunction with the filming of the movie Daylight. Only 48 of these were produced and only some of those had this large box and collectible items. This piece is in Excellent condition and has its huge Panerai Slytech burlwood presentation box and paperwork, collectors book, model sub with stand, 3 straps (one original). This is a wonderful specimen that speaks volumes to the modern history of the Panerai brand.
The stainless steel case is 44mm in size with a bright white dial. The hands and markers at the quarter hours are painted with tritium, which has turned a warm cream color giving this watch a vintage look. You will appreciate the "4 liner" dial which says, Luminor, Daylight, Slytech & Panerai. The mechanical movement is a Unitas 6497 which needs to be wound approximately every 40 hours. The case also has the Panerai patented locking crown mechanism. The watch currently sits on a black OEM Panerai MX black calf strap with a Pre Vendom logo buckle. This was a special edition strap created in the early 2000's and has become collectible in its own right. There is a third strap tan (brown) calf strap with a 1st generation logo buckle. This strap is not original to the set, but also rare and collectible. The other strap is the original Pre Vendom OEM Black Alligator Strap with its sewn in Pre Vendom Logo buckle.
