The Blue Serpent pen takes its inspiration from the Blue Serpent Clock Egg. In accordance with the Romanov tradition, this piece was presented to Empress Maria Fedorovna in 1887 by her husband, Tsar Alexander III.
Crafted in Europe from .925 sterling silver, each individual piece is meticulous guilloches (engraved) to exact specification. Translucent enamel is then applied to the guilloche, which adds depth and beauty to the perfectly finished surface. The serpent, clip, ring and leaves are layered in 22-karat yellow gold or rhodium.
Fitted with Michel Perchin 18-karat gold nib and ebonite feeder, the Serpent pens are limited to production of 500 pieces in Blue.
